1. Distance from pickup to drop-off
The biggest factor. A tow inside Ajman — say from Al Nuaimiya to the Ajman Industrial Area — costs less than a tow from Ajman to Dubai or Abu Dhabi. For trips to other emirates the price is usually worked out from the distance.
2. Where the car is
A car on a street is quick to load. A car in a low basement, stuck in sand, or on a highway shoulder takes more time and equipment, and that can add to the price.
3. The kind of help you need
A battery jump start or a tyre change is a short job and costs less than a full tow. Accident recovery, where the car cannot roll or steer, needs winching and takes longer.
4. The car itself
Large 4x4s, pick-ups and very low sports cars need more care to load. Most saloons and SUVs are standard.
5. Time of day
Some companies charge more at night or on holidays. Ask about this when you call, so there are no surprises.
How to get a fair, fixed price

Watch out for
- Prices that are quoted “per kilometre” without a total
